Sustainable travel is becoming increasingly important, even for city trips. You can contribute to the environment with minimal effort. Consider travelling by train, bus, or electric car to reduce your carbon footprint. At ibis Styles Bangkok Silom, we proudly hold the Green Key policy, a testament to our commitment to environmental sustainability. This certification assures our guests that we genuinely practice eco-friendly measures, providing a sense of well-being and responsibility.
We take our responsibility to society, the environment, and our planet very seriously. Here are some examples of our daily efforts:
• Energy Efficiency: Our hotel is equipped with energy-saving LED lighting
• Waste Management: We practice waste separation and recycling
• Water Conservation: We use water-saving systems to minimize consumption
• Sustainable Practices: We regulate kitchen exhaust air with automation
• Employee Involvement: Our dedicated staff actively contribute to implementing green ideas
Green Key is awarded in over 70 countries and sets high standards for sustainability in the hospitality industry. We strive daily to meet and exceed Green Key’s criteria, sending a strong signal to our guests, customers, partners, and employees about our commitment to the environment.
Green Key is a voluntary eco-certification programme for hotels, hostels, campsites, holiday parks, small accommodations as well as conference centres, attractions and restaurants.
The Green Key certification is based on compliance with strict internationally recognised criteria in the areas of environmental management (water, energy, waste, cleaning, etc.) and sustainability education (staff, guests, suppliers, etc.).
Compliance with the criteria is confirmed through a rigorous application process and third-party verified after regular on-site audits. The certification is valid for one year at a time.
Currently (May 2023), there are more than 6,000 establishments in 70 countries certified with the Green Key.
Green Key is endorsed by various institutional partners, international hotel chain and tour operator partners and cooperating with a range of web partners.
The Green Key programme is managed by the international charity, the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and its national member organisations.
